Sensis Sales Dashboard

Overview

Sensis had built an API that aggregated online data about your company. This data could be used to help sell SEO and web development services.

Problem definition

There was a great tech solution but they didn’t quite know what to do with it yet. Sales staff were currently relying on a number of workarounds and 3rd party services to identify customers needs.

Target audience

This tool would be primarily used by Sensis sales staff to aid them in identifying gaps in a client’s service and turning them into sales opportunities.

Responsibilities

Working directly with the product owner and dev team, I led the discovery and design process, conducted contextual inquiries and prototype run throughs with the call centre sales staff. Taking iterations of wire frames through to finished state UI.

Design process

Our design process was rapid and informal. Moving quickly from white boarding to testing with users. We had a finished developed product in four weeks.

Constraints

There was some initial resistance to testing with sales staff. This turned around really quickly when the team sat in on the prototype run throughs and listened to how the sales team needed this to work for them.

Results

Our users comments were invaluable as it shifted the functionality of the product quite drastically. It turned into more of a comparative tool that the sales team could use to benchmark customers scores against competitors or best in market examples.
